The First Moments of our Family

June and July have been celebratory for our family. It was 2 years ago on June 28 that we held our baby girl for the first time and we arrived home with her 2 years ago on July 8. I have been reflecting over the last 2 years and how much M has changed. She has grown so much. M is a delight to all who meet her. She is caring, loving, kind, loves to share, is so sweet, has a gentle spirit, is energetic, loves life and adores her mommy and daddy. M is passionate about everything she does. She loves to snuggle and knows she is adored. M is very bright and smart...it completely amazes me. She never forgets anything...and is great at reminding mommy of things. :O) I think the most humbling and rewarding part about being her mom is that she knows that Jesus loves her! It is awesome that she gets that even at the age of 2. There is nothing more I desire for her than for her to know that and to know Him. M's passion for life is such a joy to watch. She is very determined and knows exactly what she wants. Thank you God for choosing us to be her family. It was Him and Him alone that orchestrated all that took place to place M in our arms. She is the light of our lives and we are so very blessed! M loves to snuggle at night before bed. She says, "Mommy will you rock me and sing some songs". Oh, how my heart flutters to hear her ask that and to be holding her and to see her look in my eyes, and say, "I love you, mommy". We do lots of singing around our house and we make up a lot of songs. One of her favorites that I made up for her is, and with this I close, "Your eyes are like the stars, they twinkle and they sparkle, your smile is like the sunshine, it brightens mommy's life".

You have been very blessed to receive such a great gift as Maci. Sometimes it is so hard to hear that "all things work together for our good," and even though it was a long tearful journey, God has given you the desires of your heart and probably even more than the desires. He has blessed you beyond. We love our niece and miss all of you lots.
